Delays in the Process
We recommend that you create a Credentialing Spreadsheet or Word Document to track your submissions (include dates and reference numbers, if applicable to refer back to when checking the status of your application)
Here is a list of the potential issues that may cause a payer to pause:
- Frequent change of employment
- Unexplained time gaps in work history
- Negative response/no response from a reference
- Any claims or investigations of fraud
- An unusual number of malpractice claims or lawsuits for the specialty
- Incorrect information on the application
- Missing information on the application
- Any criminal activity that has not been explained
- Incorrect color of ink when completing a paper application
- Signature and date are too old.
